I was born and raised in Florida, USA, and my introduction to the jaw harp happened in the most unexpected way.
As a teenager watching the western film For a Few Dollars More, I heard this strange, twangy, almost “boingy” sound in the soundtrack and became completely obsessed!
I paused the movie, researched what that sound was, and discovered the jaw harp.
 

Naturally, I ordered one straight from eBay. My first harp? A Snoopy jaw harp. Please don’t buy it - it’s not a good beginner instrument. I learned that the hard way!
Although I started young, I didn’t truly dedicate myself to the jaw harp until December 2023. That’s when curiosity turned into commitment. I began studying tone, resonance, and the craftsmanship behind handmade instruments.
